DCW | About DCW

For 35 years, DCW has been Germany’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to improving business relations between China and Germany.

The German-Chinese Business Association (DCW), established in 1987, is Germany’s leading association helping enterprises, organizations, specialists, and executives grow and develop their business relations with China.

DCW is the German member of the EU–China Business Association (EUCBA) and the official German partner of the China Council of International Trade (CCPIT).

DCW provides information about the economic relations between China and Germany

The DCW Annual Report (“Jahrbuch”) provides comprehensive information about China’s economic development and the business relations between China and Germany. DCW members and partners analyze the changing economic, legal and political environment so as to derive key implications for the China business of German companies and Chinese investments in Germany.

DCW’s most important publication is the China Telegram (“China-Telegramm”). In close cooperation with the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the China Telegram has been published once every two months for many years. In addition to up-to-date information on the Chinese economy and insights into industry sector developments, the China Telegram also contains information on China’s legal environment and on events hosted by DCW, the Chambers of Commerce and others.

DCW serves companies from the industrial, trade and service sectors

DCW helps its members come into contact with companies and public authorities in China and Germany. We assist Chinese provinces, towns, regions and special economic zones in holding presentations in Germany.

As a non-profit association, DCW does not offer individual consulting. Instead, we act as an agency that brings together interested companies with competent firms that offer management, law and tax consulting and other services to promote the development of the German-Chinese business relations.

DCW is a platform for the exchange of experiences and ideas

DCW regularly arranges regional and nationwide events in several German – and increasingly Chinese – cities, often in cooperation with partners. Industry experts, entrepreneurs and managers are given the opportunity to describe their activities in China and benefit from others’ experiences.

DCW is in contact with the politics and the public

DCW offers help to politicians of both countries in matters related to the German-Chinese economic relations and accompanies them on mutual visits. DCW promotes dialogue forums with participants from business and politics, striving to make middle-class industrial businesses’ views on financial and trade barriers between China and Germany heard.

DCW aims to convince the public and the media of the importance of closer economic relations between Germany and China, citing the considerable benefits to both countries.
